MAS is responsible for monitoring and coordinating responses to- and following up on- all internal and external audits, with the exception of the annual financial statement audit and audit required by the Federal Office of Management and Budget Uniform Guidance. Those audit requirements are controlled by the Department of Financial Services. MAS is also charged conducting internal controls and ethics training programs, as well as serving as the official UMBC Policy Liaison.
